William H. Howell
President

Bill started his career with the Insurance Company of North America ("INA") in 1967 as a claims trainee in their Denver, Colorado office. Over the next 27 years, Bill built a diverse career in Claims Management at INA, the Home Insurance Company, the Colonia Insurance Company, and Trygg Hansa, before launching SCM with Pete Mazurek in 1997.

Peter N. Mazurek
Vice President of Operations

Pete has held various positions in the insurance arena. He worked as a treaty accountant for both Willcox Incorporated Reinsurance Intermediaries and Trenwick America Reinsurance Corp. In the early 90's he moved on to Swedish American Management which managed the affairs of the Trygg- Hansa Ins. Co. U.S. Branch. While there he was an assumed marine and aviation reinsurance underwriter as well as a primary marine underwriter. In 1997 he assisted in the launch of SCM and took over all operational responsibilities.

Tom Kiernan
Vice President, Claims

Tom began his career with GEICO in June 1976 as a Claims Representative in Woodbury, New York. Over the next 21 years, Tom was in the Field and Home Offices of INA, Home Insurance Company, and Scott Wetzel Services before joining SCM as V.P. of Claims.

Joseph P. Campo, J.D., AIC
Vice President, West Region

Joe began his career with Crawford & Company in October 1992 as a claims adjuster in Uniondale, NY. He became a Claims Supervisor and a member of Crawford's Management Program while attaining his Associate in Claims (AIC) designation. Joe joined SCM's NJ home office in 1998 and started their West Coast operations in 2002. He became a Vice President and principle of SCM in January 2009 and continues to manage SCM's West Coast operations. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Stony Brook University and a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from Seton Hall University School of Law.

Wayne Felix, CPCU, ARM, AIM
Manager, South Region

Wayne began with Travelers as a claims trainee in the New Orleans office in 1976 and became an assistant supervisor with them. Wayne worked as a Supervisor and Manager for several third party claims administrators; in the Risk Management Departments for Brown & Root and Methodist Healthcare System; as a legal assistant for a law firm specializing in Longshore and Jones Act claims; and on the brokerage side at Johnson & Higgins, before joining Specialty Claims Management in 2000. Wayne holds CPCU, ARM and AIM designations and is a member of the CPCU Society.

Richard Bascio, ARe
Director, Business Development

Richard's career spans over 20 years of industry experience within the property & casualty insurance marketplace. Prior to joining SCM, Richard was the sole owner of RAB Insurance Services (RAB), a retail insurance brokerage based in Union, New Jersey. Before RAB, Richard held senior management positions at several international reinsurance and insurance focused organizations. Richard holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from The University of Vermont and is active in many community and industry organizations.
